This is a reflection, not a questionnaire — closer to a GPS than a form. In each domain you'll do three things: locate your honest position, take a bearing on where you want to be, and name the next real move. The questions are open on purpose; the work is in the writing, not the reading.
The frame — eight dimensions of wellness
It's organised around the eight dimensions of wellness — a whole-person model developed by Dr. Peggy Swarbrick and adopted by SAMHSA. The premise is unfashionably true: a life doesn't run on one axis. Each dimension can be strong while another quietly fails, and each pulls on the others. Most self-assessments over-weight one or two; this one makes you look at all eight, in your own words.
Inner lifeemotion — the range you allow, and how you meet it.

How to use it. There's no clock on this — give it the time it asks for; an unhurried afternoon, a slow weekend, or a little at a time. Depth matters more than finishing: answer fewer questions well rather than all of them fast. In each domain, rate where you are 0–10, write where the questions land, and skip what doesn't. Every answer should be true — some are uncomfortable on purpose; that's usually where the signal is.
Doing this with someone? Do it separately — each your own copy, your own honest answers — then come together and compare. The two sets, side by side, are the real conversation.
Before the eight — a note on temperament
How you answer everything below is shaped by how you're wired. The most evidence-based map of personality is the Big Five — not a label, but a lens on your own patterns. (MBTI is more fun than reliable; the Big Five is the one the research trusts. The VIA Character Strengths survey is a good optional companion if you want a strengths-based view.) Take the 50-item test just below for your five traits; for the complete 30-facet profile, use the longer IPIP-NEO-120 (e.g. bigfive-test.com). Then read your traits against the questions.
Openness — appetite for the new, the abstract, the aesthetic. Where does yours pull you toward growth, and where toward restlessness?
Conscientiousness — order, discipline, follow-through. Does yours serve your aims, or has it become its own master?
Extraversion — where you draw and spend energy. Are you arranging your life around how you actually recharge?
Agreeableness — warmth, deference, the pull to keep the peace. Where does it make you kind, and where merely compliant?
Emotional stability — your baseline reactivity. What reliably knocks you off centre, and how quickly do you return?
Temperament — the Big Five (50 items)
Fifty statements, about ten minutes. Rate how accurately each describes you as you generally are — not as you'd like to be — on a scale of 1 (very inaccurate), 2 (moderately inaccurate), 3 (neither), 4 (moderately accurate), 5 (very accurate), then read your five traits. This is the public-domain IPIP-50 (Goldberg's Big-Five markers), a proper factor-level measure that scores itself on screen.
